Verbal attacks response. We all have those days when someone doesn’t like what you have to say. In the moment when being verbally attacked its hurtful, negative, accusing, blaming, judging and criticizing. Typically verbal attacks are yelling and screaming. Even today with texts and emails you could be verbally attacked. The words are typed in caps and being sarcastic that emphasizes the words, etc. Initial responses could be to react or be defensive.

In the moment of reacting we could retaliate and have the other person feel as we are in the moment too.

Does this help the situation to be reactive? How could we respond versus be reactive?

It doesn’t help to be reactive you are being just like the attacker. In the moment we also go into defensive mode and give our best shots. We want them to feel like we are too. In truth, nothing gets resolved and many hurtful things could be said.

Yelling or screaming is overbearing, pushy, and manipulative. No one deserves this behavior from another. People yell and scream thinking they will be heard or you will listen better and submit to their viewpoint. It’s actually offensive. The person yelling or screaming is triggered by others and goes into reaction mode.

LisaOnTheGo was verbally attacked and due to practice did the following: In the moment she stops listening to the other person. In the moment she realizes it doesn’t matter what she says and this will end in a no-win circumstance. She then quiets her mind, breathes and quickly analyzes what is being said. Again, to react or respond in this moment doesn’t help. When things quiet down she tells the person she wants to process and walks away. LisaOnTheGo chooses to walk away, calm down because being yelled and screamed because it goes right through her and her immediate response would be to react too.

Being you.

In her opinion walking away gives her the power of loving herself. Depending on the situation it could take time to calm down. Once calm she goes within and tries to understand the other person's words, she doesn’t have to accept them but wants to understand them. LisaOnTheGo says most arguments are from not being understood. Once she has had the time to process she could now respond calmly. At this point, the other person is calmer too and more opened to converse calmly.

LisaOnTheGo then has choices, she could either approach the topic again at a later time or not.

There have been times whenLisaOnTheGo has chosen not to converse again. Her feelings are if the other person is stuck in the mud on their viewpoint, in the “I am so right mind”. Then nothing could be resolved.LisaOnTheGo will talk it out when there is the win-win situation. Example: You have a fender bender the person runs a red light, hits your car and blames you. In the moment or after nothing is going to change. They believe their story. No matter what is said or how it is said they feel the way they do. No point in trying to talk.

We always have choices. Yelling or screaming doesn’t resolve anything it is the emotion of fear. Responding not reacting works. In actuality, disagreements are resolved when both people are calm, listening to the other and understanding them. Again, not accepting the others viewpoint but understanding them.

First and utmost at all times is to love you, take of care you and be in your own power.

LisaOnTheGo's Definition of Rigid – Not being flexible, refusing to change or adapt to other ways. In retrospect, the attitude is “I am so right”.!

They're some rigid schedules for classes, transportation etc. to run smoothly and give flexibility for you to choose.

Regardless of the events, circumstances or situation the more rigid or intenseness that are present the more flexible we could be. This gives balance to our lives, being grounded. 

Are you being Rigid?

Here is an example: You’re in an exercise program (year-round) that could be taken anywhere, however they are on a timed schedule. Now you are on vacation and the timed program is at the time of a dinner reservation.

What do you do? Rigid vs Flexibility

Rigid? Everyone else is asked to follow your pattern, change the reservation and time, even the restaurant if they can’t accommodate you. Others do this too to keep the peace. You think you are at your peace since you received what you wanted, at your time, on your schedule.

In truth, this is being rigid and an ego gratification.

Flexibility could be canceled/postpone/reschedule the class. LISAonthego gets it, it’s being in a routine, important for your health. You could choose another comparable physical activity for the day. That could be done on your time, when it works for everyone, including you. This keeps peace with everyone and most importantly you and loving you. Also, you kept to the commitment for you on exercising.

Flexibility could be having gratitude, appreciation and respecting others where you are and whom you are with. All we really have is today and today could change the future.

How? Our actions in the past bring us to this moment we are in now. In the moment; we have choices. These choices will affect our future. Therefore the past, present, and future exist as one.

LisaOnTheGo is processing her family dynamics in her life and as time moves, the past appears farther away. It seems easier to look at her past and acknowledge things that were painful or she didn’t understand. In this momentLisaOnTheGo is feeling and seeing what has been unpleasant in her interpretation and forgiving her family. By forgiving LisaOnTheGo means to surrender and L.I.D.E. (LEEDY) (https://spiritualfitnessonthego.com/lisaonthego-lide/) her experiences.

LisaOnTheGo has choices, forgives and let's go. She chooses to change her actions to respond, where yesterday she would react. By responding gives her the power to make a change that works for her. When you truly forgive others and yourself it is natural for things to change that is best for you. This feels awesome.

LisaOnTheGo kept doing the same thing, reacting and wanting things to change and it didn't until her actions changed.

LisaOnTheGo taking the action of forgiveness of her and others now this is a big change. Yesterday she reacted, today she is responding and tomorrow in her future she is in peace and doing what is best for her. Tomorrow could be not interacting or interacting more or less or setting boundaries or life has taken her on a different path for her.

What you do today in this moment does affect your tomorrow. What are you choosing for you?

Past impact you? LisaOnTheGo Blogger, Some say yes and some say no.

The no answer is for those that have the mental attitude the past is done, it’s gone and over. The past serves no purpose it was what it was and it's done. Time to move forward. Doesn’t work forLisaOnTheGo. She likes to understand her life, to learn and move forward.

Her ego chatter, talking minds spends a lot of time on her past. It keeps spinning the stories and dramas, playing the scenarios over and over again. Imagine if she was free from the past and no thoughts of yesterday and how much time her ego chatter mind would have to be even more creative.

What has come into LisaOnTheGo paths and recognition recently is resolving her past. The ego chatter ego mind keeps the past stories and drama going. Along with her feelings of these lessons that make them her own. Her own interpretations, her own feelings, her own stories and makes her who she is. These stories are her memories. Some good and some bad no one has a perfect life here.

On most spiritual paths, it is believed your past is in your past and serves no purpose. In LisaOnTheGo's world, she has had some repetitions of lessons in her life. The lesson or patterns are always the same, however, the situation, people or events are not. Therefore, it’s not easy to pinpoint when it's occurring.

At some point during the drama and stories the similarities appear and by going within she recognizes some of the patterns or lesson to be learned. Eventually, it does come full circle. Some of the lessons have been a lifetime to this point in her life and some much shorter. There is no concept of time to understanding our lessons, some are truly thought about and heavy on her mind and some are simple that goes by. The tougher lessons for LisaOnTheGo has had many stories with the ands and buts.

LisaOnTheGo Resolving her Past, how?

By LisaOnTheGo recognizing she is experiencing a lesson or a similar situation or an event is occurring. At these times in her life, she has those feelings about herself, she goes within herself and she stops spinning the stories and the ego mind chatter.LisaOnTheGo is learning to say STOP, enough, no more ego chattering mind. She questions what is happening in her life and asks herself questions and then recognizes she has been here before. This has been a recurring story or event and she asks herself what did she do the last time that worked to put the drama and stories to rest? She answers herself and the ego is upset because all the stories in her mind have now stopped.

LisaOnTheGo asks herself what did she do last time that successfully worked that put the stories and drama to rest?

LOL, see its simple and yet complex. The answer is what did you do last time that successfully worked is how to put it to rest? Our lessons keep appearing until we learn the lesson for us and to successfully change the outcome. Each time the lesson, situation or event occurs we now simply recall what has worked in our past.

Our past is our answer to the present moment that effects our future as well.

LisaOnTheGo loves this and so simple and yet complex. So, next time you have that known feeling what you are experiencing, stop, go within and ask yourself what has worked in the past? Do it and move forward in your life peacefully.

Other Opinions? LisaOnTheGo Blogger. LisaOnTheGo is who she is. Wonderful, awesome, her own best friend, loving, caring, supportive, smart, wise etc. I am that I am that and that is who I am. So who are you?

LisaOnTheGo defines who she is! How about you?

Story and drama: you are sitting at a meal enjoying life and others think they are helping you, letting you know their negative opinions, criticizing you on subjects you didn’t even ask.

Why? Because they think they know you, could help you in where they think you need help in your life.

In retrospect LisaOnTheGo doesn’t know anyone who doesn’t have issues, this is the game of life. So, yes everyone thinks they know the answers and opinions of everyone else.

What do you do? You have a choice to listen, agree or disagree and LisaOnTheGo is learning to talk to herself and change other stories for herself to be hearing positives so her inner critic is positive.

However, if the other person gave their opinion without being asked and it resonated with her, LisaOnTheGo could listen and if agrees has the choice to change. The bottom line here is to know, one, you have a choice and two, you have the choice to change if you want too. No one could make us do anything we don’t want to do.

In the above drama and story, LisaOnTheGo could react by yelling back, defending, crying and this is reacting. By acknowledging you have a choice and options for your choices this is a responding. These are choices you are making. As LisaOnTheGo said; she is learning, practicing to respond, that she has choices and changes what she doesn’t want to hear to reinforce her with positives. An example would be reading her affirmations, responding positively and using the tools and activities on spiritualfitnessonthego.com and be loving to herself.

Others don’t have the answers for you they have suggestions, opinions the answers are within you, opinions could help you to get to your answers, but it is about you and no one else.

Sometimes other opinions and reactions are all about them and a mirror to remind you other words have nothing to do with you and are about themselves.

 A tip, this is how you know how someone else views themselves. Watch the other's ego, egos are nasty, critical, mean and cruel with no answers. It’s fascinating watching others ego and then the nightmare when you could acknowledge yours, lol. The good news, you have the choice to change your thoughts and reinforce your positive affirmations to be a better you. 

Initially, in the moment for LisaOnTheGo, found it was difficult to recognize her ego. Then she started looking back after an event or comment and realize she reacted. Then she worked on healing, forgiveness, finding her peace and asked herself how this could be different next time? LisaOnTheGo made her mental notes and the next time she looked back again and as the events and comments occur; she recognized the similarity and then the pattern. Now she could giggle, talk to herself that she has choices to react or respond. For LisaOnTheGo Choosing to respond gets easier. We all have those triggers.

However, getting to know you, you start seeing the triggers and knowing you have a choice, tools, and activities to make a difference for you. LisaOnTheGo calls this for herself being on the path and she chooses her peace by using the tools and activities on patreon.com/spiritualfitnessonthego. What about you?
